
A single Umbri Umbrella Rack can serve the entire household. No umbrella actually appears in your inventory, but as long as your Sim doesn't return it to the rack, they'll automatically open it when they need to.

Place the umbrella rack anywhere indoors, then have your Sims interact with it and choose the "Take an Umbrella" action.

You can find it in Function Sort > Appliances > Miscellaneous Appliances, and it costs only §100. To acquire one, you must go into Build Mode, then find the Umbri Umbrella Rack. Sims can somewhat defend themselves from rain if they have an umbrella. This may be offset from Traits, such as the Loves the Outdoors or Childish trait, and you can still give orders like "Play in the Rain" to a Sim who has automatically run inside. Having a Sim stay outdoors during any inclement weather generally results in the Sim drawing a moodlet debuff, making them less happy, although Children tend not to mind as much. Most Sims regard precipitation as a negative. Note that settings apply to an entire save file, but a given neighborhood's climate will impact your available weather. This will prevent any harm coming to them directly from temperatures. By default, the weather is at its most powerful, so you'll see thunderstorms and blizzards during the appropriate Seasons.įrom that screen you can also disable temperature effects on your Sims. There, you can use drop-down boxes to customize the upper limit of weather in the neighborhood, including during off rain or snow (or both) completely. Once you load a save file, enter the pause menu, then go to Game Options, and finally to Seasons.

These limits tend to be respected with the use of Seasons Cheats, but can still be overridden with the use of Dr. It never naturally snows in Oasis Springs, for example, and the temperature is generally warmer there than in other neighborhoods.
